Dean's Scholarship

The $500 Dean’s Scholarship is awarded annually in the fall to one student enrolled in the Certificate of Diaconal Studies, Certificate of Presbyteral Studies or Certificate of Anglican Studies program.

Eligibility Guidelines
  • This scholarship will be awarded to a second- or third-year student independent of demonstrated financial need.
  • This person may self-nominate or be nominated by someone else. In the case that no nominations are received by the close date, the Scholarship Committee may make an award based on members’ knowledge of the student body.
  • Recipients of the Dean’s Scholarship are not excluded from applying for or receiving other BKSM scholarships
  • Nominees must demonstrate leadership in the areas of spirituality, academics, ministry and/or mission.
  • Applicants must complete the online application form
  • Applicants must request a letter of support from their rector, bishop, spiritual director, faculty member or other individual familiar with his or her spiritual life, academic life and church life. This letter may be mailed or emailed to the Very Rev. Don Compier, BKSM dean, at the address below.

Selection Process
  • A three-person committee (dean, member of Board of Directors, faculty member) will read applications and make the award decision.
  • While the scholarship application remains open at all time, the application deadline is July 15 of the current academic year. The Scholarship Committee can extend the deadline, if necessary.
  • This annual scholarship award will be announced by August 1 of the current academic year.

The general scholarship fund is supported through donations from alumni, students, and other friends of Bishop Kemper School for Ministry. If you wish to donate to the scholarship fund, you may donate online.  Contact the Rev. Casey Rohleder at bksmoutreach@gmail.com for more information.
